This magnificent CD Transport and DAC are 220v and hence come with a Powertek Regulator.
These products were state of the art 15 years ago and still hold their own on Redbook Playback.
The Transport weighs in at 30kgs. The overall objective was to protect the laser disc from internal and external vibrations. The enormous inertia of the JD1 was obtained by assembling opposing ground elements.
The Transport is divided into 3 sections by bronze rods, placed under the points of the 3 main supporting feet – the height of the foot at the back is adjustable. The upper deck itself suspended in 3 parts makes up a block of 8kgs. The supporting rods for the suspension springs in the star shaped upper deck enclosing the drive coincide with the 2 front supporting feet. The third spring point is at the centre back coinciding with a supporting foot in chrome steel.
A Philips CDM for mechanism is used. The laser diode block is mounted at the end of a galvanometric arm controlled by a digital servo controlled system.
By using a very light disc clamp (in metacrylate), the performance of the motor bearing lasts for a much longer time than in the majority of other drives presently on the market.
This is a tube based DAC comprising of 2 boxes – with a combined weight of 26 kg.
A standout feature of this DAC is its musicality, due partly to tubes used and its Bitstream technology.

This was one of the best SA-CD Players ever manufactured.
When Accuphase introduced the ultimate separate-type SA-CD/CD player, the models DP-800 and DC-801, a new epoch in audio history had begun.
Garnering worldwide acclaim both for their technological excellence and sound quality, the transport and processor pair has become the new reference for SA-CD reproduction. The new DP-700 is an integrated type SA-CD player incorporating that very same state-of-the-art technology.
In the transport section, a dedicated DSP chip controls the digital servo to assure accurate readout of the signal recorded on the SA-CD. Another vital aspect is the single-lens/twin laser diode pickup mounted to a high-speed positioning mechanism, providing a significant improvement in read access times and accuracy.
The processor section features the innovative MDSD principle forming a sophisticated moving average filter circuit, together with the MDS++ D/A system that keeps conversion errors to an absolute minimum and at the same time acts as high-cut filter efficiently removing noise components in the high frequency domain.
Internally, the transport and processor sections of the DP-700 are kept entirely separate. Digital inputs allow independent use of the processor section for external sources to enjoy music reproduction with the same superb quality.
Some of the features are:
- High-rigidity, high-precision SA-CD/CD drive
- Innovative digital signal processor with MDSD technology
- MDS++ D/A converter with eight DACs driven in parallel
- “Ultra Jitter-Free Plus” PLL circuit
- “Direct Balanced Filter” with totally separate balanced and unbalanced signal paths
- Transport outputs and digital inputs m Accuphase HS-Link digital interface
This Player was originally sold by us, and is in excellent condition, except for a small chip on the front perspex.
It is a one owner unit, and comes complete with all original packaging. It was recently traded in on a Chord Blu2 and Dave DAC.

These full range bipolar radiating speakers have been fully refurbished and are in beautiful condition.
Bipolar means the front facing and rear facing drivers are wired in phase with each other. Imagine two conventional 3 way speakers standing back to back and you get a pretty good idea of what this speaker is all about. This speaker can be bi-wired or bi-amped.
These large speakers will fill a room with beautiful music. They are fairly insensitive and require a decent high current amplifier to achieve best results.
So if you wish to transfer a symphony orchestra into your room, these are the speakers for you at what must be a very moderate cost.

The NHT XD System is an active speaker system with DSP based crossovers and inherent phase/time and room correction.
The XD System is designed from the ground up to incorporate DEQX Calibration. This is a DSP technology for loudspeaker correction and incorporates very steep linear phase digital crossovers.
The amplifier section of the NHT XdA contains four PowerPhysics One-Cycle Sound™ amplifiers that supply high-efficiency bi-amplification of stereo channels and two balanced,line-level output channels for the woofer(s). PowerPhysics™ proprietary Class D amplifier is compact and highly efficient, generating the bare minimum of heat, allowing NHT to put all electronics into a single chassis measuring 2.6″H x 17″W.
The diminutive (10.25″H x 6.5″W x 8.5″D) NHT XdS satellite speaker features a two-way acoustic suspension design that houses an ultra-low distortion 5.25″ midrange and 1″ neodymium tweeter. A massive heat sink is attached to the rear of the tweeter to provide substantial power handling while the cabinet baffle itself is molded from a dense, sonically neutral composite material designed for far-reaching sound dispersion. Each satellite is bi-amplified, with the midrange and tweeter each powered by an individual amplifier.
Rounding out the NHT Xd system is the NHT XdW powered bass module, comprised of two active, opposed 10-inch drivers and a PowerPhysics 500W amplifier. Unlike other powered woofers, the XdW features only three controls – volume trim, balanced input and voltage selection. (Crossover functions such as frequency response, phase, crossover point and time-domain filtering are managed by the DEQX processor in the XdA.)
DEQX Calibration™: Why and what for?
In short, DEQX Calibration measures loudspeaker and room acoustics using the company’s unique methodology, with special filters that simultaneously correct all frequencies in time as well as phase and frequency response to optimize system performance. As a result, sound is dispersed across a much wider stage without being tied down to a narrow sweet spot. The mechanical errors inherent in all loudspeaker drivers are largely eliminated, providing a strikingly natural sound. Additionally, imaging is articulate and defined while distortion is reduced to previously unattainable low levels that are usually associated with electronics components, not speakers.
This high end speaker system will perform superbly in all environments large and small.
Very good condition.
